Compacting - how often should this be carried out to avoid crashes

Hi Stephen,

Firstly you need to check that this is OK with the database administrator, then make a backup copy of the database before you go any further. You can run the tool as often as you feel necessary. It really does depend on the size of the database, I would recommend either once a week, once a fortnight or one a month.

Combo box for finding records

You can use a combo box in a form to look up a record. If you place the comb box in the Form header, by then selcting they a field type from the drop down loist, you will see the record for it
