Microsoft Access - linking values to external maps?

Is there a way that I could link an table with latitude and longitude co-ordinates to a map of the UK?

If this is possible would I need lat and long details as
- lines
- polygons
- something else?

Thanks

Frances

RE: Microsoft Access - linking values to external maps?

Frances,

Try something called MapPoint. It used to be free with Microsoft Office 2000, but now you need to pay for it separately.

http://www.microsoft.com/mappoint/default.mspx

It integrates with MS Office, and you can get a trial download from the site above. We do not get involved in any MapPoint services or products, but would be happy to refer you to a partner organisation that could assist you.

Regards

Richard

Access tip:

Prefixed Autonumbering

When using Date Type = Autonumber as a primary key, clients may require autonumbering to be prefixed with a letter.

For example, P001, where P is the prefixed letter

Instructions
Step 1. Create Field Name
Step 2. Set Data Type to Autonumber
Step 3. Within Field Property General tabsheet,
enter Format property as [backslash]P000
