Microsoft Project 2010

To whom it may concern,

I wish to create a line within project that extends for 15 years called "Residential Take up". At a set point each year (say 31st December) I want a point/milestone on the line to say the number of units for that year. Is there a way to create a line within the gantt chart with a milestone for every year the line extends?

Currently the only way I have managed to do anything like this is to create recurring occurances dated 31st december for the 15 period however I am unable to get text above it to label each point with the relevant figure.

The other alternative is a different year on each line and a milestone for each but this is very messy and creates too many additional lines.

I look forward to your help

Thanks

Tom

RE: Microsoft Project 2010

Hi Tom,

Thank you for your question.

You could try adding a text box above each occurrence, entering the figure for that year and then linking the text box to that occurrence.

However I will pass this on to my other colleagues and see what they may suggest.

I hope this helps.

Regards

Simon

MS Project tip:

Autofit column width – Project (all versions)

At the top of the columns where each column name is located (Task Name, Duration, etc.), hover over the vertical column line which you want to move.

A short bold vertical line will appear, with horizontal arrows pointing left and right.

Left click and hold this icon and it will permit you to grab the column line, allowing you to move it left or right to your desired location.
