Getting queries to reference other queries
Hello,
I am trying to find a way to get one query to reference another query.
Essentially I have a number of different queries which are designed to become subreports in an overarching report.
Each query has an organisation parameter field, but when creating the report I will be looking up the same organisation for all of the subreports.
Rather than entering the parameter 3 times, I thought one solution might be to create a simple parameter query which just has the organisation field and then get the other queries to reference that lookup.
The problem I am having is that when I run the queries they bring up the parameter entry box, but that doesn't seem to limit the results in the queries themselves.

Thanks for your post, we have had to review this with a few of the team to identify the best course of action.
What we can say it that a solution can be found but it is beyond the scope of this forum. In these instances what we ask is for you to send through some example files along with a list of items you wish to solve.

Thank you very much for looking into this for me.
I think I have managed a work around by creating a parameter query solely for looking up the organisation.
Then I created a report based on that query and put the rest of the queries that I needed to interrogate in as sub-reports with linked child and master fields tying them to the parameter query.
It's not ideal because it limits how I can manipulate the data but from the sounds of the amount of work involved with my original enquiry, it will be more sensible to stick with the workaround.
