How do activities differ from tasks?

RE: Activities, Tasks

Hi Riaz

Thanks for your question.

An Activity (or sometimes "Work Package") is the smallest unit in a Work Breakdown Structure. A general rule of thumb suggests that Actvity durations should be no less than a day which means there are probably many steps or Tasks that make up each Activity. Another way of looking at is to say Tasks are too small to track individually but when added together form discrete Activities on the plan.

I hope this helps. Do let us know if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,
Andrew
