COUNT/COUNTA

Can someone please explain the difference between count and counta formulas?

Thanks

RE: COUNT/COUNTA

Dear Gareth

Thank you for attending Excel Advanced course!! I hope you enjoyed the course and benefited from it.

Count is used when you are trying to perform calculations on the cells that contain Numbers AND NOT TEXT.

COUNTA is used when the cells contain Text AND NOT numbers.

Count function returns Zero value if you include cells that contain text.

I hope this has answered your query.

If this has answered your query then I would request you to please mark the question as resolved!! If not and you have a specific question related to this then please post it as a new question and we should be able to provide you the solution for it!!

Kindest Regards
