Formatting

When I insert projects into one master project all the formatting (i.e. colours, fonts, bar styles etc) are lost. How can I insert the content and the formats?

RE: Formatting

Hi Karoline

Thank you for your question - yes when a project is inserted into a master project the formatting of the master project prevails. This is because the formatting you create is stored in the current view.

If the formatting you are looking to retain is created by going to Format > bar styles then the following may help:

In your sub project switch to Gantt chart view then go to Format > Bar styles and format your tasks.

Then create a view by going to View > More Views and copy the Gantt chart view giving it a distinctive name.

Now open your master project with the sub project also open in the background.

In the master project go to Tools > Organizer. In the selector set one file to be the sub project and the other to be the master project.

Switch the organizer to the view tab. You can now copy the view you created with the distinctive name across to the master project. OK and close your dialog boxes.

In your master project you can now apply the view you created in the sub project and apply it to your combined project.

I hope this helps. If you have any further questions please do let us know.

Kind regards,

Andrew
