Can you ignore the little green corner of a cell?

RE: Excel

Hi Laura, Thank you for the post, welcome to the forum, in answer to your question; the little green triangle in the corner of the cell is an indication that there is something wrong or incorrect with the formula in the cell, (like Word's green wriggly underlining, telling you there is something wrong with the Grammar) this could be as simple as Excel telling you that you have not included adjacent cell/s in your range, the green corner triangle can be ignored or you can select the cell, then move your mouse gently towards the exclamation mark which has appeared, click on its drop down arrow to see the reason behind the marking, you could at this point repair the problem, or if you wish to remove the marking click for Excel to ignore the problem. I hope that has helped, if so please click the resolved link, best regards Pete.

Excel tip:

Hide data in Excel Worksheets

Let's say you have some data in cell 'C5' you would like to hide from the casual viewer.

Click cell 'C5' to select it.

Click the 'Format' menu, select 'Cells'. When the 'Format Cells' dialogue box opens, click the 'Numbers' tab (if necessary), then select 'Custom' from the 'Category' list.

Double-click the 'Type' entry box and type three semi-colons: ";;;"

Click 'OK' to close the dialogue box and accept the new formatting.

The data in cell 'C5' disappears. It's still there and will work in calculations, but it isn't visible.

If you need to check the data, just click the blank cell and the contents appear in the 'Formula bar'.
