Importing data

How do I import my existing data into my new more efficient database table?

RE: Importing data

Hi Jonjo, Thanks for the post, In answer to your question, if you are importing from Access to Access the operation can be carried out from the File> Get External Data and choose the option Import, navigate to your chosen database and choose the Tables, Queries, Forms, Reports and other objects that you wish to import. Click OK when you have made your choices. The objects imported will then be shown in the relevant object selection areas in the database window. I hope that helps best regards Pete

Access tip:

Create An Inaccessible Field On A Form

There is sometimes a need to make a field in a form look like a normal field but be completely inaccessible to the user. To do this:

In the Field's Properties
Set the ENABLED property to No
Set the LOCKED property to Yes

The field will not grey out, but the user will not be able to do anything with it.
