Printing

for some reason when i want to print a report, i have a blank page between each report. How can i remove this blank page?

RE: printing

Hi Sabine

Thanks for your question. It could be a number of things, but lets check the basics first.

With Access reports, what can happen is that if the report area is wider than the page it is on, even if there is no fields or data showing in that area, then it will go on to print a blank page.

So What you need to do is to either:

1. Rerun your Report wizard, and make sure you tick the box that says "Fit all fields onto one page". This will ensure that you do not go onto another page to the right of your fields.

2. The other option is to MANUALLY shift your fields to the left, and then drag the background area from the right edge in the LEFT direction. You may need to make some changes and them check and see if it has worked.

There are other settings that allow you to put in blank page. It is unlikely that this is the case unless you have changes the FORCE NEW PAGE setting in the properties for the DETAIL section.

Hope that helps, and let me know if you manage to get it sorted out. Fell free to post any further questions about reports or using Access as you progress in building your database.

Kind regards

Access tip:

Closing form after a certain time period

To make a form close automatically after a certain time period, you need to assign the close function to a macro.

Save the macro and ope up the form in design view. open the Properties sheet.

In the TimerInterval property enter the length of time you want the form open for. This should be in milliseconds, so for instance if you want the form open for 5 seconds enter 5000, for an minute enter 60000.

You now need to attach your macro (to execute the Close action) to the OnTimer event property of the form.
