Tracing precedents
When formula auditing, Is it possible to trace precedents onto different pages of a workbook.
When you go to trace precedents for a particular cell, it just has a line to a little excel sheet sign. How do you follow the line on to the page where the referred to cell is?
Is there a command to show the different pages to which a cell refers concurrently?
RE: Tracing precedents
Hi Tim
Thank you for your question.
What will happen when you use Trace Error where the cell in question refers to cell/s on other sheets, you will get a dashed line and a little spreadsheet icon appear on the spreadsheet. If you double-click at any point along the dashed line, the Go To dialogue box will appear on your screen listing the cells that are referred to in the formula so that you can select a cell reference from the Go To dialogue box and click OK to go to that cell and investigate what the problem might be.
This also gives you a way of being able to see what cells a particular formula refers to.
I hope this helps.
