Uses of Microsoft Access databases

Could you please explain to me what Microsoft Access databases are used for. I would just like to clarify why I would use microsoft access databases over other software.

RE: Uses of Microsoft Access databases

Hi Dave,

Microsoft Access databases are used for storing data in tables which are linked together via relationships. You may want to store customer information in one table and their orders in another table. By doing this you can quickly and easily access all of the data that belongs to a customer from another table.

Hope this helps
David

Access tip:

Space marks

It is good practice not i to have space marks for field names as this can lead to problems when using queries or VBA code. It is much better to use an underscore charcter to represent spaces in field names
