Excel and Word
Hi there,
can you please advise how I can insert specific cells from Excel in Word?
Thankyou
RE: Excel and Word
Hi Lulu,
Thank you for using the forum to ask a question.
We'd recommend using the copy feature and when pasting right click so you have the options on the screen. If you don't change the options you will get the cells being copied as tables into Word.
If it's not related to that, please do tell me more via a direct message so we can help.
Kind regards
Richard Bailey
RE: Excel and Word
Hi Richard,
Sorry, I should have been more clear.
I wanted to be able to 'link' the specific cells from Excel to Word but it only seems to pull the entire sheet, rather than the specific cells.
Can you please assist?
RE: Excel and Word
No problem at all, that makes sense.
We were close with the solution.
Right click and paste - but choose the 4th Option which has a chain/link symbol on it
If the Excel file updates it will update it will now Word
Remember to make this work you need
- The Excel file saved
- Word filed Saved
- If you change the location or name of the files it will break the link between them.
If you need to reconnect the link a workbook after someones updated the file name head to File/Edit Links to files in the bottom right corner.
Use the change source button to select the file with the new name.
You can also break links here.
Do let us know how that goes, if you require further support please let us know.
Kind regards
Richard
