Importing extra column in dimension table
Hi Jens,
I have a dimension table called majorbudgets. It's purpose is to analyse across all budgets, but grouping the smaller/insignificant budgets as 'OTHERS'.
If I refresh the table it ignores the new column.
If I import it, I get an additional table named majorbudgets1, but it does include the new column.
I could delete the old table and add the new 'majorbudgets1' and reconnect the relationships, but this seems a rather long winded process for the simple addition of a column.
How do I import/refresh the amended table so that the extra column is included in my data-model?

RE: Importing extra column in dimension table
Hi Lloyd,
When you add a new column to the source table, refresh the table in the PowerPivot window. Click Table Properties on the Design tab. Find the new column in the window and tick the tick box above the column.
This will show the new column in the data model.
Kind regards
