Hi.

I have created a valid list based on month-year.
I would like that when any year is selected in the valid list, a total of 12 other cells display the 12 months from the selected month-year in the valid field.

I am not sure which is the best formula to use!

Hi Nicki,

Thank you for the forum question.

Which formula is the best one to use depends on how your source data are organised.

I have created an example file (See attached file). I have the source data in a list and I have use the Sumproduct function. Please see how I have formatted the dates in column E and J.

I hope this can guide you in the right direction.

thanks for the reply Jens. I havent explained myself too well, so I have created a file to try to explain...Is there a way I can upload the file as I cant see any attachment options..

Finding cells that have data restrictions

Click anywhere on the worksheet.
On the Edit menu, click Go To.
Click Special.
Click Data validation.
Click All.
