RE: separating text string

Hello Hai-anh

The easiest way to separate strings of text like first name and last name is with the Excel Text to Columns feature.

Step 1 - Select the range of names
Step 2 - Click the Data tab, Text to Columns
Step 3 - Select Delimited.

This is the character separating the names.
Click Space and if necessary remove the tick for Tab.

Step 4 - Click Next and choose a destination for the separated columns. Choose a blank cell within the same worksheet.

You might find it easier to create 3 blank columns to the right of your name column to start with for your destination data.

Also you might need to do some edits for people without middle names.

Hope that all works!

Regards
Doug

Excel tip:

Seeing named ranges as part of the zoom

If you have large areas of named ranges this works better.

If you zoom down to 39% you will see your named range.
