Variable dropdown menus

How do you create a dropdown menu in a table where different options are available dependant on the value of another cell.

RE: Variable dropdown menus

Hello Adam,

Thank you for your question. The best solution would be to use two drop-downs. One to change the list from which the final drop-down list comes and one for the final drop-down list. To see how, please copy the link below and paste it into your web browser's address bar. This explains it very well with an example. You need to use an hlookup or a vlookup, depending on the layout of your data.

I hope this helps.

Excel tip:

Calculate age or service

The DATEDIF() function in Excel calculates the number of days, months, or years between two dates. So, this function makes it easy to calculate a person's age. To try this tip:

In a blank worksheet, type the birth date in cell A1, using slashes to separate day, month, and year.
In cell A2, type =DATEDIF(A1,TODAY(),"y") and press ENTER.
