Using different views

what are the options for looking at different projects at the same time and formatting the page to show to non-project users?

RE: using different views

Hi Helen

To make switching views easier go the to View menu and choose View Bar to display the list of commonly used views.

The calendar view is great for sharing your project plan with people who may not be familiar with Gantt charts as it's organised like a regular calendar.

To see more than one project at the same time try creating a new blank project then from the insert menu choose Project and selecting a file. You can quickly build a Master project that displays the contents of a number individual projects at the same time. You can also link between the projects if you wish.

Good luck with Project and do let us know if you have any questions following your training.

Kind regards,

Andrew

RE: using different views

Thanks Andrew!

And thanks for your patience yesterday. The pace and the space for questions meant that the session was much more helpful for me than the previous training I'd had.

Have a good weekend.

Helen

MS Project tip:

Typing Links Between Tasks

In the Entry table, use the Precessors column to type in links. Type the previous task's ID to link. To change the link, add FS (Finish-Start), FF (Finish-Finish), and so on, and + duration to add a Lag, or - duration for a Lead time. Example: for task 5, 4FS+1w ... task 4 preceeds task 5, finish to start, with a week lag between.
