Personal Macro

Hi,

I currently have a Personal Macro that I would like to share with everyone in my team, how can I do this easily and quickly?

The report the team will use this against is generated every month but my team are based all of the EMEA region.

Sorry for the high priority applied to this question but I now need to give a training session on this tomorrow morning at 9am and I would like to give the team access ASAP!

Many Thanks

RE: Personal Macro

Hi Tracy

Here are some instructions for sharing your Personal Macro with everyone in your team. hope not too lengthy...

1. Open your VB Editor by pressing Alt F11.
2. Locate the VBA Project (Personal.XLSB) and the module containing your macro. It might be called Module1. Double click to check it contains the macro to share.
3. Rename the module from Module1 to something else eg MacroTraining. (No spaces)
4. Right click this module and select Export File.
5.If possible select a folder that your team all have access to and press Save. This creates a text file with a .bas extension.

Now each person will need to import your file into their Personal Macro folder. As some people may not have a Personal Macro file ask them to do the following:
1,. Record a macro called Macro1 and choose Personal Macro Workbook from 'Store macro in' then click ok t ostart recording.
2. Stop the recorder (small blue button).
3. Press Alt F11 to access the VB Editor.
4. First timers may need to select View, Project Explorer.
5. Select the VBA Project (Personal.XLSB) as before.
6. Right click and choose Import File and locate your MacroTraining file. Choose Open.

Your Personal Macro will then be available for that person.

Finally when exiting Excel there will be a message to save the Personal Macro Book. Say Yes to this message.

Hope you follow this ok. If not then send an email to Doug at info@stl-training.co.uk with your telephone number and I will be happy to speak with you this afternoon.

Good luck with the training tomorrow Tracy!

Excel tip:

Return to the active cell after scrolling

When I scroll a long way down the screen from a selected cell, I can return to that cell with the Ctrl+Back Space shortcut. The active cell now appears in roughly the middle of the screen.

Shift+Back Space does something similar. Scroll down from the active cell and Shift+Back Space returns me to it and puts the active cell at the top of the screen; scroll up from the active cell and Shift+Back Space returns me to it and puts the active cell at the bottom of the screen.

Note also, that while Ctrl+Back Space will return me back to a selected range, Shift+Back Space only ever returns me to the active cell, which is normally at the top left-hand corner of any selected range.
