Access Report Layout

I have got a report with a subreport. I want the subreport to appear as a table with columns and rows that touch each other and with a border round all details. I got the boxes in the rows to line up nicely by using control padding but the rows still have a gap between each one. Can you help me resolve this please?

RE: Access Report Layout

Hi Gillian,

Thank you for your question.

If you open the subreport in design view, select the Design tab of the Report Design Tools, select all the controls in the Detail section and then go to the Gridlines group. Finally, choose both from the list of available options.

I hope this answers your question.

Simon

RE: Access Report Layout

Hi Simon. Thank you for your answer. I've done as you suggested but unfortunately it hasn't solved the problem, in fact it now looks very peculiar! The boxes have moved position and are still together with side edges touching but the borders now appear separately and the rows are still not together. I would send you a screen print but can't paste it here.

Access tip:

Switchboard Startup

An option when you open your Access database that contains all of you tables, forms and queries is only the switchboard is displayed.

To achieve this, select Tools click on Startup. On the right hand side of the Startup screen you are able to select which form you want to open when you open you Access Database. Once you have selected this, there is a check box just below that says "Display Database Window", you need to uncheck this option. Then click ok.

Then when you close you Access database and re open it, the database should open with just the switchboard being shown
