Deleting rows

Hi,

Have an Excel spreadsheet document and wish to delete a single row. For some reason when I select any row it highlights rows in grouops of 4 and its not possible to select a single row to delete. I have not meged any cells and do not understand why this is happening. Advice appreciated.
