Making backgrounds in Powerpoint pictures transparent
When I was on the Advanced Powerpoint course, Mark Monroe showed us a brilliant tip for making the background of a picture transparent. This was NOT the "Remove Background" tool. Can you ask him what it was?
RE: Making backgrounds in Powerpoint pictures transparent
Hi Michael,
Thank you for your question.
Mark is on holiday at the moment so I will try and assist.
Do you mean after you select the picture?
If so on the Picture Tools menu and Format tab at the end of the ribbon, click on the Format Tab and all the tools to edit pictures will appear.
Select Colour from the Adjust group and then the third option from the left(Washout). This will make the picture transparent.
Alternatively, on the Colour options, towards the bottom there is a 'Set Transparent Tool'. You can then use the tool to click on parts of the picture to make them transparent.
I hope this answers your question.
Regards
Simon

Hi
That's helpful, thanks, but I'm sure that this had something to do with a slider bar.

Hi Michael,
I will have a look for you. Thanks for the hint.

RE: Making backgrounds in Powerpoint pictures transparent
Hi Michael,
If you right click over the picture and choose Format Picture. Go to the Fill Tab and there is a Transparency option with a slider.
Is this what you were referring to?
Regards
Simon
