Outline numbering

How do you format the outline numbering to show2 decimal places ie. 01.01.01 as opposed to 1.1.1.
Thanks

RE: Outline numbering

Hello Ahmed,

Hope you enjoyed your Microsoft Project Intermediate course with Best STL.

Thank you for your question regarding changing outline numbering to show 2 decimal places. You cannot change the Outline standard formatting which appears in the Task Name column, however, you can setup a WBS code which does what you require and then add the WBS column to show the outline numbers. I have attached a Word document with a screenshot of how to do this and the results.

To define a WBS code, click the Project menu then click WBS followed by Define Code...

Insert the WBS column and the results should reflect the settings you have created. If for some reason the numbers appear incorrect then you may have to go back to the Project menu, click WBS and then click Renumber... this will fix any incorrect outline numbers.

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved. Please let me know if this works for you or not.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?

Have a great day.

Thanks
