I'm currently rushing to finish an assessment in Project 2010 and I'm totally stumped at one bit. My tutorials say that I have to format my gantt chart and in order to do this I have to go to Format -> Gantt Chart Wizard. My tutorials are giving instructions for Project 2003 but I'm using 2010 and I cannot find the gantt chart wizard anywhere. Can someone please please please point me in the right direction?? Panic is beginning to set in!!!

and I found the it by Ribbon Finder for Office.

it's poor for the man to find the command in the ribbon.

RE: Using tools to find the function in MS Project 2010

Hi James,

Thank you for your question.

I am just confirming your question is now resolved by yourself.

Project 2010 does have some commands that used to be in the menus that are now available by adding the button through the Customize Ribbon in the options via the File Tab.

You could also create a new tab on the ribbon and add the button to the new tab along with any other button that is needed.

Could you please confirm whether this question is now resolved.

Thank you.

Regards

Simon

MS Project tip:

Set default task type - Project 2010

a. In Project, click on the File tab
b. Select Options from left hand side
c. Click on Schedule to set the scheduling options
d. Set the Default Task type box to your chosen option
i. Generally if you plan/estimate your projects using durations you should use fixed duration, and untick the box New tasks are effort driven, if you plan/estimate with person hours use fixed work, or for plans estimated with the proportion of resources time use fixed units, and untick the box New tasks are effort driven)
e. Click OK to apply your changes
