Query

How do I create a query

RE: Query

Theresa,

You can create a QUERY by selecting the QUERY tab onthe left of the database window. There are Three options:

Create QUERY by:
- using the wizard
- in design view

You can choose how to start off. If you are new to Queries, try using the wizard to get the basics going. All the technical settings are located in the design view.

Once you really get a grip on queries, look at the SQL view and learn some of the statements. We cover this in the advanced course.

Access tip:

Hide Access Tables

One method of stopping your Access tables appearing in Database window, is to rename the table(s) with the prefix usys.

This converts the table into a system object, which cannot be viewed in the Database window.

You can show system objects in the Database window by the following:

Step 1: On the Tools menu, click Options.
Step 2: Click the View tab.
Under Show, select the System Objects check box.
Click OK.
