How do I extract specific data

how do I extract specific data from a data download? e.g. I have imported a cash ledger for 12 month period and want to extract only those transactions with "interest" in the description field.

Hi Tom

You mention the "description" field. Could you let me know where this is located? is it a column heading or a comment, or something else. Once I am clear on that I should be able to assist you.
