whats the difference between record and database?

RE: access

Hi Dobromira,

Thanks for your question.

A record is one entry within the database. For example, you may have a database of names and addresses. Say you have two friends, Adam and Bill. Adam has one record allocated to him, with all his address, phone number and contact details; and Bill has another record.

And the database is the collection of all the records.

If this answer resolves your query, please mark the question as 'resolved' (see below). Otherwise, please post a follow-up response to this post, and I will assist you further.

Regards, Rich

Access tip:

Create An Inaccessible Field On A Form

There is sometimes a need to make a field in a form look like a normal field but be completely inaccessible to the user. To do this:

In the Field's Properties
Set the ENABLED property to No
Set the LOCKED property to Yes

The field will not grey out, but the user will not be able to do anything with it.
