If statements

I have a column which contains either yes or is blank. Can i use an if statement so that in another column I can put a value if it says yes?

e.g what I tried was =IF(I4=YES, 100, 0) but this gives a name error.

What should I have done?

RE: If statements

Hi Nicola

In the function it should say I4="YES" as seen below:

=IF(I4="YES", 100, 0)

This way you are telling the computer to look for the string (word) YES.

In your example it was looking for a named range called YES.

Hope this helps

Carlos
