Chart

The ways to create good charts

RE: chart

Dear Nooreza

Thank you for attending Excel Intermediate course !! I hope you enjoyed the course and benefited from it.

There are different ways of creating charts. The most important thing to remember is to select the relevant data for the chart.

If you select too much data then your chart will have extra series that you may not want.

If you select less data then the chart will be incomplete.

Other important thing to remember is to select the right type of the chart for the data that you have selected. for example you cannot create a Pie chart for comparing two various elements. Line chart is best used when you are comparing a single or two or more series with each other over a time e.g. House prices from 1999 - 2009.

Once you have selcted the correct data the quickest method of creating a chart is Pressing the F11 key on the keyboard. It normally creates the default chart normally set to Column chart on a separate sheet.

But if you are want to create a chart with customised settings then you have to use the Chart wizard. If you need step by step instruction for using chart wizard then please reply to this post and I should be able to do that for you!!

I hope this has answered your query.

If this has answered your query then I would request you to please mark the question as resolved!! If not and you have a specific question related to this then please post it as a new question and we should be able to provide you the solution for it!!

Kindest Regards
