Page break

What is the difference between page breaks and section breaks?

Thank you

RE: Page break

Dear Jodie

Thank you for attending Word Intermeidate!! I hope you enjoyed the course and benefited from it.

Page breaks are used when you want to force particular text to apear from a new page onwards. When you choose Insert > Break...
Page Break OK. It shifts all the data to the next page from the right hand side of the cursor.

Section breaks are a bit different because they create a Section break from where the cursor is blinking. The purpose of creating section breaks is if you decided that you want certain pages tohave different headers/foooters or orientation to be landscape or change the margins. Once you create section break you can have certain pages or sections to have different layouts or formatting such as two or three columns!!

I hope this has answered your query.

If this has answered your query then I would request you to please mark the question as resolved!! If not and you have a specific question related to this then please post it as a new question and we should be able to provide you the solution for it!!

Kindest Regards

Word tip:

Double Spaced Text and others

To avoid the problems of breaking text into sub-paragraphs with the Enter key, select your paragraph and use Ctrl+2 to change to double line spacing.

Ctrl+1 returns to single line spacing.
Ctrl+5 changes to 1.5 line spacing.
