Naming Functions

Can you apply naming ranges to all work sheets within a workbook with same formats?

RE: Naming Functions

Dear Sarah

Thank you for attending the Excel courses. I hope you enjoyed the courses and benefited from them.

The answer to that question is unfortunately NO!! Normally when you select a range of cells and keeping the CTRL button pressed select the other cells in the other sheets and name those cells using the name Box. It will only use the first range of cells that you selected!!

So you cannot use multiple cells in different sheets but however you can use multiple cells that are not together on the same sheet and give them names.

Excel tip:

Turn off AutoComplete in Excel

You may have noticed when typing into your spreadsheets that if you start to enter labels that begin with the same letters as a label that has been previously entered in the same spreadsheet, Excel will try and automatically complete the text for you. This feature is called AutoComplete.

If you find this feature more annoying than useful, you can turn it off by:

1. Going to Tools - Options.

2. Select the Edit tab.

3. Remove the tick from next to the "Enable AutoComplete for cell values" option.

4. Click OK.
