Excel and Formulas

Hi there,

My mind has gone blank and I can't see how top do this in any of the reference materials.

I am using the Edate function in Excel and using it to calculate 6 months from the date in the box.

Rather than going to each box and redoing the formula, is there a way of setting the formula to calculate the whole column?

Thanks for your help

RE: Excel and Formulas

Hi Daniel

Thank you for your post.

When you say you are calculating 6 months from the date in the box, do you mean you have a list of dates in a column (e.g. column A), and in another column (e.g. column B), you are displaying the date which is 6 months ahead of each date in column A?

RE: Excel and Formulas

That's absolutely right.

I'm fine with calculating an individual date but wondered if there was a way of recreating the formula for all 150 dates at once?

Thanks for the response.

RE: Excel and Formulas

Hi Dan

You should be able to take the first formula you have at the top of the column and copy it to the other cells in the same column; and you should find that the rest of the dates are calculated correctly for you.

If you have a continuous list of (original) dates then you should be able to hold your mouse over the bottom right of the cell where you have the formula to calculate 6 months ahead and double click when your cursor changes to a black cross.

Have a good evening

Excel tip:

Paste a web address into the hyperlink address field

If you copy a web address the only way to paste into the address field of the hyperlink box is to use CTRL + V. Right click paste does not work.
