Primary key

Can you define two or more fields as jointly primary keys? if so, how?

RE: primary key

Dear Ale

Thank you for attending Access Introduction. I hope you enjoyed the course and benefited from it.

Yes there are situations that one table may need two primary keys to make the records unique.

If you would like to have two primary keys simulateneously then simply go to the design view of the table.

Select the first field that need to be the primary key by clicking on the grey box in front of the field.

Then keep the CTRL key press while selecting the second field that needs to be assigned as the primary key.

Press the Primary key on the toolbar and you'll notice that both the fields will be set as primary keys.

I hope this has answered your query.

Can I please request you to mark this post as resolved.

Access tip:

Remove spaces in a table

If you have a table that has too many space marks littered around, you can create a update query and use the trim function to get rid of any excess space marks
