RE: Project Progress
Hi Rajkumar
Thank you for your question. The basis of tracking progress in order to see whether you are ahead or behind schedule is to save a baseline. Go to tools > tracking and choose to set (or save) baseline.
Now take a look at the tracking gantt view (view > tracking gantt). You will see the baseline represented as charcoal grey bars below your live plan.
Now if you update your tasks with progress (e.g. tools > tracking > update tasks) you will find you can compare actuals with planned progress.
In addition if you right click on the select all tasks square (just above row zero and to the left of the indicators column) you can switch to the variance table which will again show the degree to which your project is ahead or behind schedule, task by task.
I hope this is helpful
Kind regards,
Andrew
RE: Project Progress
Thanks for Your reply Andrew,
How can i calculate the Progress of teh total project as a whole, like, to say "My project is ahead of schedule by 29 days". How to calculate this consolidated period of the total project?

RE: Project Progress
Hi Rajkmar
The following will help:
Turn on the Project Summary task (tools > options > view > show project summary)
and take a look at the variance table as described above. On the Project summary row you will see variance information for the project as a whole.
Alternatively you can run the Project Summary report - go to View > Reports > Overview and double click on the Overview report.
Hope this helps - let me know how you get on.
Kind regards,
Andrew
