Cost relation with project plan

How to solve the cost changes in the project plan when there's price different between the previous cost when we start the project and in the middle of the project?

RE: Cost relation with project plan

Hi Averrouz

If your cost rates change during the plan you can adjust your model as follows:

On the resource sheet (View > resource sheet) double click on a resource. In the dialogue box that appears click on the costs tab. You will see cost rate table A. Initially it will only have one row in it. The row begins with an effective date of -- meaning the rate applies from the beginning of the project.
In the next row down enter the date the cost for this resource changes. In the next cell enter the new standard rate or enter the % change and Project will calculate the new rate.
Repeat this for each affected resource and Project will apply the new rate after the date you specify.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,

Andrew

MS Project tip:

Inserting Task Durations Quickly

When entering durations for your tasks simply use the single letters - m for min, h for hr, d for day, w for week, but mon for month. If default is set for days, you need only type the number, for example 3 for 3days, or 0.5 for half a day.
