How do you add the analysis add on to a toolbar

RE: MS Project

Hi Helen

Sometimes the analysis toolbar doesn't appear in Project. Here are the steps to restore it:

Go to View > Toolbars > Customize then choose the Commands tab
In Categories box, click All Commands
From Commands the icon for ComAddInsDialog and drag it to one your toolbars at the top of the project screen and let go

Close the Customize dialogue box and click the new COM Add-Ins icon you added to the toolbar

Clear the check boxes for: Adjust Dates, Copy Picture to Office, and PERT Analysis add-ins, then click OK.

Click the COM Add-Ins icon again

Re - select the check boxes for the Adjust Dates, Copy Picture to Office, and PERT Analysis add-ins, then click OK

Now when you got to View > Toolbars, you should be able to select Analysis to display the toolbar

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
Andrew

MS Project tip:

Keep constraining dates to a minimum

As far as possible avoid fixing the dates of your tasks. For example try to steer of clear dragging task bars in the Gantt chart to move them on the timeline or entering dates directly into the Start / Finish fields.

Date constraints such as these limit Microsoft Project's ability to automatically adjust your project whenever you add, remove or modify the duration of your tasks. Instead use the logic in your task dependencies that link your tasks to enable Project to calculate the start and finish dates for you.
