Designing with Dreamweaver

What is the best Way to design a Web Site with Dreamweaver

RE: Designing with Dreamweaver

Hi Vijay,

It depends on your audience.

The best way in my opinion is to use CSS to lay out your page/design (don't use tables), as you will be able to control your design more efficiently. A simple change in your CSS document can change your entire site in seconds.

You can use one of Dreamweaver's built in style sheet templates, or start from scratch (hand code). There are lots of templates to choose from in CS3. You trained in version MX, which doesn't offer as much support for CSS style layouts, but you can still do it hand coded.

Perhaps look up some tutorials on CSS if you'd like to explore this further.

Also remember usability, navigation and colours are all important. I like to read articles by Jakob Neilsen for tips on ensuring your web audience has no trouble visiting or navigating your site.

Keep your text clear and large enough to read. Remember that most sites are about content, not how pretty it looks (unless your are, for example, a design or graphic company, in which case your visitor will expect smooth and amazing graphics on your site). For e-commerce sites, people want info, price, picture and an easy check-out system. Think about your audience and what they want to see.

Hope this helps.

Regards, Rich
