Pivot tables

how can i build one larger table off smaller pivot tables?

RE: Pivot tables

Dear Rebecca

Thank you for attending Excel Adv. course. I hope it was beneficial to you.

The question you have asked is quite interesting one. Normally Pivot tables are created for summarizing large tables.

I can understand that you might want to summarize information and then gather that information into another table. Normally you can simply copy and paste the data in the pivot table by using Paste Special.

To do this you'd select and Copy the data in the pivot table that you want to copy.

Click on the sheet the data needs to be pasted. Choose Edit Paste Special... (or you can get this option by right-Clicking as well)

Choose values and press OK.
If you want the Formatting (Appearance) to be pasted then without de-selecting any values choose Edit Paste Special and select Format and then OK.

You can repeat this step as many times as you want until you get the desired results.

There is alternative method and that is to double click on the heading of the columns of the pivot table. It will automatically copy and past the result in a separate sheet for you.

Unfortunately it always copies it to another sheet so therefore you'll have to cut and paste the data afterwards.

I hope this has answered your question. If it has then I'd request you to please mark this post as resolved. If you need further clarification then please reply back to this post and I should be able to provide detailed clarification.

Kindest Regards

Excel tip:

Display Formulas Instead of Results in Excel 2010

By pressing Ctrl ~ once, Excel will display formulas rather than the results of the formulas. Press it again, and the results will appear again.

A much quicker and simpler way of displaying your formulas!
