If security is applied using wizard how does this effect users accessing other databases on a network?

RE: Security

Hi Laura, Thank you for your post, In response to your question, to my knowledge; creating security on a database on a network requires all network users to log in in order to use that database, this should not affect the use of other databases on the network. If you do not activate the logon procedure on a database, you are automatically logged on under the Admin user account, for which there is an empty password. ie no security settings. I hope that makes it a little clearer, best regards Pete

Access tip:

Run with the total

Often when creating reports with lists of transactions it can be useful to have a column which totals the transactions as the report progresses.

Using the Sum function gives the total for the whole group, not a running total.

Access provides an easy method of achieving a running total.

Click on the text box containing the data you wish to contain the running total.
Select the Data tab
Click in the Running sum option
Click the down arrow to view three options
