How do you password protect a worksheet?

RE: Excel

Hi Sarah, Thank you for the post, In answer to your question you can password protect the worksheet by selecting the option Tools, Protection, Protect Worksheet, you will enter a password, which will require to be confirmed. Note this does not stop users from viewing the data, it only stops them from entering or editing any of the data. If you wish to only allow certain people to view the worksheet you will have to protect the entire workbook,
You can password protect the entire workbook by following these steps.
Choose the option Save As, in the Save As dialog box, give the file a name, and select the type of file (ie workbook or template) At the top right of the dialog box there is an option called Tools with a drop down, click the drop down and choose the option General Options, you will open a dialog box which will allow you to set two passwords one to open the file and the second to modify. You can choose one or both, note you will have to verify the password you enter. From there, you will then save the file and the next time it is opened it will prompt for a password. Hope that helps, best regards Pete.

Excel tip:

Rotating Text in an Excel 2010 Worksheet

Maybe you want to draw attention to certain text or you just simply want to make your worksheet look more exciting!

One of the things you might consider is, rotating the text in a particular cell or set of cells.

1) Select a cell you would like to rotate
2) Click the ''Home'' tab in the Ribbon
3) Click ''orientation'' in the ''Alignment'' section
4) A pop up menu will appear with a few choices, if you want to decide yourself how many degrees to rotate the text, then click ''Format Cell Alignment.''
