linking tasks to resource availability

how do you link tasks to resource availability, ie if you have limited availability of resource how do you get the tasks to snap to the availability time

RE: linking tasks to resource availability

Hi Jason,

Thankyou for your question

The best way to accomplish this is to have the Automatic Levelling switched on. This will automatically attempt to resolve resourcing issues as they occure, and one method will be to split and delay tasks in line with resource availability.

I would caution however, that automatic levelling can result in rapid and radical alterations to a project plan and should be used with caution

MS Project tip:

Inserting Task Durations Quickly

When entering durations for your tasks simply use the single letters - m for min, h for hr, d for day, w for week, but mon for month. If default is set for days, you need only type the number, for example 3 for 3days, or 0.5 for half a day.
