How do I select a data base from colunms separated

RE: Charts

Hi Irina

Thank you for your question.

A database is created from fields (columns) and records (rows) that are adjacent to each other in a spreadsheet. You will find that for a number of functions (e.g. database functions) that you will get an error if you try using a data range that is not continuous/non-adjacent.

You could try creating a separate sheet that combines together all of the data you need into a continous block so that you can then use functions on the information without getting errors. You could do this by creating links between the cells where the data is stored currently, and cells in the new worksheet.

I hope this helps.
Amanda

Excel tip:

Go to source of a cell

The default setting in Excel is when you double click in a cell it actives the formula in the cell. If you have created a link and want to directly go to that link (say if on another sheet, click on Tools -options and take off the tick for eidt it directly in cell
