Freezing data

how do you freeze all live data in a worksheet?

RE: freezing data

Hi Anna:

If by 'freezing data' you mean you want to prevent cell values or formulas from being overwritten, select:

Tools/Protection/Protect Sheet...

Enter a Password (this is optional) and click Okay. Since all cells are locked by default you will then be unable to change any cell.

If you want to protect only some cells, and leave others available for entry, before protecting the sheet you need to select the cells you want to remain unprotected and select:

Format/Cells/Protection and remove the tick from 'Locked'.

Hope this helps. Post back if you need further help.

Regards,

Tony Gay.

Excel tip:

Paste a web address into the hyperlink address field

If you copy a web address the only way to paste into the address field of the hyperlink box is to use CTRL + V. Right click paste does not work.
