Excel

What type of mean do we use for Excel? Is it mean average, mode average, medium average?

RE: Excel

Dear Christopher

In Excel you can use ALL of the above as there are functions for each.

These can be found in Insert Function dialog box under the Statistical category.

The AVERAGE(Numner1, Number2,...) function is the same as the Arithmetic Mean

The MEDIAN(Numner1, Number2,...) function returns the middle number in a range of numbers

The MODE(Numner1, Number2,...) function returns the most frequently occurring value in a range of numbers

Regards

Carlos

Excel tip:

Apply currency format quickly in Excel

To quickly apply the currency format to cell in your spreadsheet, select (highlight) the cells you wish to apply currency format to, then use Ctrl + Shift + $

This will apply a pounds symbol even though the $ key is pressed.
