Excel Question

How do I move lots of columns together?

RE: Excel Question

Hi Elizabeth

Thanks for your question.

You can do this by selecting the columns you wish to move then right-click and choose Cut.

Then select the column to the right of where you want the columns to be inserted, right-click and choose Insert Cut Cells.

Note that you can only move multiple columns in this way if the columns are next door to each other in the spreadsheet. If they are not next to each other, you need to cut and insert them one at a time.

Excel tip:

Use the Ctrl-key for quick navigation in Excel 2010

If you want to move quickly to the right, left, top or bottom of your spreadsheet, just press Ctrl and one of the arrow keys. If you want to then select all the data in that particular row or column, hold down the Shift key and press Ctrl and an arrow key.
