Template

how do I add a template and change it to suite my purpose?

RE: template

Hi Juliet,

Before you add a template, you need to create it. Create a new file, then go to File -> Save As Template -> and give you template a name. The file will be saved in a /Templates folder in the root of your site.

You should also create an editable region within the BODY, and save the template.

Now go to one of your files you wish to apply the template to, and go to Modify -> Template -> Apply template to page -> Choose the template -> Assign which editable region your current page information should go into.

Now to update your pages, update and save your template. Dreamweaver will prompt you to update all files that use that template. You'll need to upload the pages to your server.

Note menu items may differ between versions, but the commands will be in the menu system somewhere.

Hope this helps.

Regards, Rich
