what is the difference between freeze pane and split?

RE: large worksheets

Freeze pane with allow you to lock a column or row, whereas Split actually create a split in the page.

If you select cell C4, then choose FreezePane, then all cells above and to the left will be locked in place.. Great for creating headings when you have lots of data.

The slit option, allows you to scroll to all areas of the worksheet, in several windows.
