Card (New)
Adding more than 3 data lines to new card visual
RE: Card (New)
Hi Luke,
Thank you for the forum question.
In the new Card (New) visual in Power BI Desktop, as of the latest updates, you can add more than 3 data lines (measures), but there are some nuances to be aware of:
How to Add More Than 3 Data Lines
1. Drag multiple measures into the "Data" field well of the new card visual.
2. By default, the visual may only show up to 3 lines clearly, depending on the layout and formatting.
3. To show more:
• Go to the Format pane.
• Expand the "Layout" and "Callout" sections.
• Adjust "Grid layout", "Spacing", and "Font size" to fit more lines.
• You may need to increase the height of the visual on the canvas to accommodate more data lines.
Limitations
• The visual is optimized for summary metrics, so while you can technically add more than 3, readability and layout can become an issue.
• There is no hard-coded limit, but practical usability may decline beyond 5–6 lines unless carefully formatted
Tips
• Use custom titles or reference labels to clarify each metric.
• Consider using tooltips or drill-through for more detailed breakdowns.
• If you need more flexibility, consider using a Table or Matrix visual styled to look like a card.
