Resetting filters on Power BI service
Is there a away of automatically resetting filters once a user closes a report after use, or when a user opens up a report?
RE: Resetting filters on Power BI service
Hi Bodrul,
Thankyou for your question to the forum.
Yes, you can automatically reset filters in a Power BI report by disabling the "Persistent Filters" feature. Here's how you can do it:
1. In Power BI Desktop, go to File > Options and Settings > Options. Under Current File > Report Settings, check the box for "Don't allow end users to save filters on this file in the Power BI service". Save and publish the report to the Power BI Service.
By default, persistent filters are enabled, meaning filters and slicers retain their state when users reopen the report. Disabling this feature ensures that filters reset to their default state (as set by the report author) every time the report is opened.
This approach ensures that users always see the default filter settings when they open the report, preventing any confusion caused by previously applied filters.
I hope this helps
