Power BI Sharepoint
Hi there,
I am connecting to my work sharepoint account on Power BI, I have created a new folder in Sharepoint with the files I want to connect to. However, the new folder is not showing, despite whatever I try. I can see all the old folders, just not the new one I have created. Any ideas why?
Thanks,
Mark
RE: Power BI Sharepoint
Hello Mark,
Thank you for your question. It sounds frustrating to not see your new folder in Power BI. Here are a few things you can try to resolve this issue:
1. Refresh the Data Source: Sometimes, Power BI doesn't automatically refresh the folder list. Go to the Data source settings in Power BI and refresh the connection to your SharePoint site.
2. Check Permissions: Ensure that you have the correct permissions for the new folder. Even if you can see it in SharePoint, Power BI might need explicit permissions.
3. Use SharePoint.Contents: Instead of using `SharePoint.Files`, try using `SharePoint.Contents` in the formula bar. This method can sometimes bypass issues with folder visibility.
4. Clear Cache: Clear the Power BI cache. Go to File > Options and settings > Options > Data Load and clear the cache.
5. Check Folder Path: Ensure that the folder path is correctly specified in Power BI. Sometimes, a small typo can cause the folder not to appear.
6. Manual Data Connection: If nothing works, try directly connecting to the folder's files by copying the full file URLs into Power BI, using the Web or SharePoint Folder connector.
Please let us know if any of these solutions work for you!
Kind regards
